The Heatwave
Waiting on a heatwave summer after summer, spending money on sun creams that seem to end up on a bathroom shelf for some months to follow with little if any used.
We have become that obsessed with the threat of good weather that the bookmakers even take odds on the possibilities of temperatures exceeding the late twenties.
As an Irish girl, weather is generally the conversation starter back home and often we find ourselves getting really annoyed at the weather forecasters on television, as though it is their fault when they deliver that too familiar news that the winds will be coming in from the west and we expect heavy downpours.
Really we should just make the best of what we are given, it is nature we cannot control it! Instead we could embrace the mediocre summer days and relax ourselves and of course look forward to our holidays in warmer countries.
Sometimes Summertime can be frustrating in business as so many clients tend to be on holiday and it can be very testing trying to get availability for meetings as so many out of office replies pop in to your inbox.
Maybe one could utilise this gap by thinking more about their career. If you start to think about a move, then usually you should move. Perhaps your discontented, perhaps your CV could do with a wipe down.
