Back in September 2021 we moved Eventus Finance to Wilmslow in Cheshire – the home of Jo Hood our Principal Consultant and the now head of Eventus Recruitment Cheshire.

Jo has worked in Finance Recruitment in Cheshire for over 30 years. She’s covered transactional roles up all the way up to Finance director level within industry, practice and law firms.

Cheshire is a county close to our hearts here at The Eventus Recruitment Group, so we thought it was wholly appropriate to focus this months’ blog on Cheshire and all the reasons why it is becoming such a popular location!

Cheshire is an area that we have spent a lot of time developing from a recruitment perspective lately, and it is so brilliant to see how the legal and finance job market has really developed making it a very ‘hot’ area for recruitment.

Cheshire is home to a population of around 1 million people and spans 905 square miles, it is made up of towns including Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Altrincham, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Crewe, Warrington, Nantwich, Northwich and of course the City of Chester.

Chester is probably its most popular destination, being founded as a Roman Fortress in the 1st Century A.D, it is known for its extensive Roman walls made of local red sandstone.

Chester is also home to some very well-known tourist attractions including the UK’s Number One Zoo, Chester Castle, the River Dee, the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain plus a 1000-year-old cathedral, 700-year-old unique shopping rows and probably most well-known of all, the oldest racecourse!

Cheshire as a whole is also very well known for its impressive nature and scenery and huge agriculture presence. The small towns and villages of Cheshire are best known for their agriculture and production of various products including Milk, Cheese, Salt and Silk.

We have quickly seen Cheshire become an incredibly popular place to work, not only is it home to one of the most used train stations for business commuters, but with the population growing and the tourist attractions becoming more and more popular and impressive, it is becoming a great place not only to live, but also to work. The strong links and connections to Manchester make it appealing to workers who like the Manchester vibe and the hustle and bustle, but perhaps just want to be that little bit out of the city centre.

It is definitely an area at the moment that is rapidly developing and we have numerous vacancies with firms right across Cheshire, we are so excited to see how Eventus Recruitment Cheshire grows in 2022, as we continue to develop our client base across this County.

If you are looking for a new role across Cheshire, or want to just have a confidential chat about the job market in that area at the moment, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
