Last week when having a coffee meeting with a fantastic Solicitor in Manchester I couldn’t help but notice his fear of recruiters and his fear of his job search becoming a public screening.
It can be disheartening in the recruitment industry to be tarred with that brush but it is the confidence in knowing how we work that keeps the positivity flowing in our processes.
I explained to this candidate in depth how we work, and as always i ask that question – Does that sound like something that would work for you? He was very much intrigued by how we approach a job search for the people we represent. I wasn’t 5 minutes gone from the meeting when i got a text thanking me for my time, complementing the way i would be representing him and a couple of points on how different we were in comparison to other agents he had spoken to.
Be sure to always find out from your recruiter what their plans are to assist you in your job search, ask for confirmations in writing, ask questions about the firm being suggested to you. Who are your contacts there, size of department etc. Your recruiter should know these answers if this particular firm are “Their Client”.
